Job Description:
Job Summary: The MRI Technician is responsible for performing MRI procedures, including a wide range of scans such as abdomen, pelvis, cardiovascular, chest, head, neck, musculoskeletal, and spine imaging. They will work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed, and participate in on-call duties. The role requires proficiency in Cerner and experience in a Level I Trauma center is preferred.Location:Springfield, Illinois, United StatesResponsibilities: - Perform MRI scans of the abdomen, pelvis, cardiovascular system, chest, head, neck, musculoskeletal system, and spine. - Utilize special imaging techniques such as CINE, diffusion, gradient echo imaging, MIP, MRP, perfusion, and peripheral MRA. - Ensure proper patient positioning and safety during procedures. - Collect and document patient data accurately in Cerner. - Maintain and clean equipment. - Answer phone calls and direct them appropriately. - Coordinate equipment and supply needs. - Participate in on-call duties as required.Required Skills & Certifications: - Minimum 2 years of MRI experience. - ARRT-MR preferred. - Abdomen and Pelvis MRI Skills/Experience: Abdomen, Abdominal MRA, Abdominal MRV, Female Pelvis, MRCP, Male Pelvis. - Cardiovascular MRI Skills/Experience: MR Angio Lower Extremity with Bilateral Runoff. - Chest MRI Skills/Experience: Chest. - Head and Neck CT Experience/Skills: Brain, Cranial Nerves, Face/soft tissue neck, Head MRA, Head MRV, Neck MRV, Orbits. - Musculoskeletal MRI Skills/Experience: Foot, Hand, Hip/Bony pelvis, Knee, Lower extremity long bones, Shoulder, Sternum, Temporomandibular joint with/without contrast, Upper extremity long bones. - Special Imaging Procedure Skills/Experience: CINE, Diffusion, Gradient Echo Imaging, MIP, MRP, Perfusion, Peripheral Magnetic resonance angiography (Iliac, runoff), Spin Echo Images, Surface Coils, T-1 Weighted Images, T-2 Weighted Images. - Spine Case MRI Skills/Experience: Cervical, Lumbar, Sacrum/coccyx, Spinal trauma, Thoracic, Thoracic Magnetic resonance angiography. - Cerner experience.Preferred Skills & Certifications: - Level I Trauma experience.Special Considerations: - Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD in order to meet fingerprinting requirements. - Will work weekends and holidays as needed for the department. - On-call required as needed. - RTO Restrictions: Ideally no more than 5 days.Scheduling: - 3x12 Evenings, 1100-2330 - Saturday - Monday - Discuss schedule requests with manager.
