Job Description:
Position Summary: This position will be responsible for the monitoring and tracking of all transactions as they relate to the requirements and specifications set forth by each funding source. The individual will be required to take an active role in understanding and meeting the needs of the end user, including researching current legislation, meeting reporting deadlines as required by state and federal agencies and able to ensure compliance in all areas of grant administration. Additionally, the position will be responsible for the bookkeeping functions of the organization from payables and receivables through financials. To be considered for this opportunity, candidates must have extensive experience working with and administering federal and state grants, possess excellent communication, and organizational skills. Essential Functions: Knowledge of accounting software systems, Excel, and Word preparation of financial reconciliations and analysis. Performs grant related, post award functions, including budget and expense analysis, periodic invoicing, financial reporting, labor distribution changes and associated communications with granting agencies, reconciliations, and re-budgeting; performs grant closeout functions as required by granting agencies Negotiation of the Indirect Cost Rate on behalf of the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada. Assist with the completion and closeout of the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada yearly audit. Reconciling financial status reports, final invoices, purchase orders, liquidations, zeroing out budgets, and final reporting. Reviews general ledger transactions to ensure accuracy and complete journal entries. Handle all payroll information and reporting. Prepares quarterly tax reporting, statement of financial position, etc. In collaboration with program directors assist in budget preparation. Manage the Indirect Budget for the Inter-Tribal Council of Nevada Prepare all federal financial reports as required. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Duties: This position is responsible for supervising all ITCN Financial employees. Education and Experience Requirements: Master's Degree preferred, OR Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university in Business Administration or Economics. 3-5 years' experience in the areas of bookkeeping and contract compliance or any combination of experience, education, and skills outlined for this position. Experience working with tribal communities or Indigenous populations. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of financial operations, laws, and terminology. Knowledge of federal and non-federal regulations and operation policies preferred. Strong interpersonal skills with a high degree of analytical ability. Excellent verbal, written, and communication skills. Strong computer skills. Accounting and bookkeeping skills. Ability to design, analyze, and prepare financial reports. Ability to monitor expenditures and maintain data. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to work with staff to resolve financial concerns or discrepancies. Working Conditions & Physical Requirements: This position operates in a professional office environment and routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, and filing systems. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Flexibility to work evenings or weekends on occasion, depending on program activities or special events. Must have average hearing and visual acuity, manual dexterity for keyboard and report writing.
