Job Objective: As the Property Technician you will plan and perform work relating to upkeep and repair of buildings, mechanical and plumbing systems, and vehicles in assigned areas of the organization, while ensuring that the Mission of The Salvation Army is effectively carried out. Part TimeStarting pay: $20 to $22What You Will Do: Performs plumbing, electrical, and painting tasks, oversees electrical and mechanical system work Maintains safe and tidy grounds by removing snow, ice and debris, mowing lawns, trimming shrubbery, and trash removal; coordinating with Divisional Headquarters as needed Completes minor repairs and painting Completes preventative maintenance logs and safety inspections, maintains pool vehicles and schedules vehicles for service or repairs, alerting supervisor of any safety concerns or repairs Assists in moving furniture and tearing down or setting up for programs Properly cleans and cares for all maintenance equipment Other tasks as assigned by leadership Minimum Qualifications: The requirements listed below are representative of the minimal education, experience, skills, and/or abilities required for this position. Background Checks: Position requires a background check to be completed. Findings may disqualify an individual for this position Experience: Has a basic knowledge and understanding of general maintenance including carpentry, roofing, plumbing, HVAC, and vehicle maintenance Certifications: Must have a valid driver's license and maintain The Salvation Army Driver's qualification standard; must complete Safe From Harm training within the first 30 days of employment. Skills/Abilities: Able to speak, write and understand English in a manner sufficient for effective communication with leadership, field personnel, and clientele Computer proficiency with Microsoft products and ability to learn electronic reporting systems Ability to set priorities and allocate resources properly in order to effectively achieve work responsibilities and objectives. Ability to pay attention to detail, accuracy and completeness. Ability to recognize courses of action to handle problems, gathering and organizing information, identifying cause and effect relationships, and applying contingency plans to solve those problems. Ability to be dependable, trustworthy, and committed to doing the best job possible and completing work in a timely and consistent manner.
