Position Type: Support Staff/Instructional Assistant Date Posted: 4/10/2026 Location: HARDIN-JEFFERSON JUNIOR HIGH   Additional Information: Show/Hide Position Title: Physical Education (PE) Aide/Coach Primary Purpose Assist the Physical Education teacher in providing a safe, engaging, and structured environment for students participating in physical education activities. Support instruction, supervision, and organization of equipment and activities to promote student fitness and well-being. Qualifications * High school diploma or equivalent (required) * Experience working with children or in a school setting (preferred) * Ability to follow directions and work collaboratively with staff * Basic knowledge of sports, fitness, and physical activities * Strong communication and organizational skills Key Responsibilities * Assist the PE teacher with daily lesson preparation and activity setup * Supervise students during physical education classes, ensuring safety at all times * Help demonstrate basic exercises, games, and sports activities as directed * Monitor student behavior and assist with classroom management * Set up, organize, and store physical education equipment before and after classes * Assist students with understanding rules, instructions, and proper use of equipment * Provide support to students with varying physical abilities and needs * Maintain a clean and safe gymnasium, field, or activity area * Assist with attendance tracking and basic recordkeeping as needed * Support school events such as field days, athletic events, and fitness programs Working Conditions * Frequent standing, walking, bending, and lifting of equipment * Work performed indoors (gym) and outdoors (fields, playgrounds) in varying weather conditions * Moderate physical activity required Skills and Abilities * Ability to work effectively with students of all ages and abilities * Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills * Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment * Dependability and punctuality Additional Duties Perform other duties as assigned by the Physical Education teacher or campus administration.
