Estimator Commercial

We are seeking a Vertical Estimator to join the team. This role focuses on commercial and public projects and offers the opportunity to shape estimating processes within a collaborative, forward-thinking GC environment.As the Vertical Estimator, you will lead both full-scope estimates for smaller general contracting projects and detailed takeoffs for self-performed carpentry packages. This is a strong opportunity for a tech-savvy estimator who enjoys working across teams and contributing to a growing division.What You'll Do as the Vertical Estimator: Prepare conceptual and detailed cost estimates for commercial and municipal construction projectsLead full-project estimates for select GC opportunities, including scope development and bid strategyDevelop detailed takeoffs for self-performed carpentry scopes including openings, rough carpentry, and limited finish workReview drawings, specifications, and bid documents to define scope and pricing requirementsCollaborate with project management and field teams to align budgets and execution plansSolicit and level subcontractor bids for applicable tradesIdentify risks, constructability issues, and value engineering opportunitiesSupport proposal preparation and bid submissionsMaintain organized, audit-ready estimate files and documentation Must-Haves as the Vertical Estimator: Experience estimating commercial construction projects within a general contractor environmentDemonstrated ability to price full-building scopes for small to mid-sized projectsBackground estimating carpentry or structural building componentsStrong ability to interpret plans, specifications, and bid packagesProficiency with Bluebeam and modern estimating softwareOrganized, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a collaborative setting Nice-to-Haves as the Vertical Estimator: Experience with public bid and municipal projectsFamiliarity with cloud-based estimating platforms such as Stack or similar toolsRelationship-driven approach with the ability to support negotiated or privately sourced workExposure to evolving estimating systems or process improvement initiatives Benefits Offered: Stable pipeline of commercial and municipal workOpportunity to influence estimating processes within a growing divisionCollaborative leadership team and supportive cultureLong-term growth potential within the organization Trueline and its clients are unabashed equal-opportunity employers committed to a diverse workforce.
