We are seeking Door and Gate Technicians/Installers for our home-grown company. Overhead door, gate, remodeling, carpentry, and welding experience is preferred, but not required, for those seeking a long-term employment relationship.It doesn't matter if you are a successful, experienced technician in another industry -- and a hard worker -- this opportunity may be just right for you. The successful applicant will also have the choice to participate in the company's medical insurance plan, as well as the company's retirement plan, which includes company matching contributions.Position Function:Includes, but is not limited to, the responsibility to take down commercial and residential doors and/or equipment, and install new commercial and residential doors, operators, and associated equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include: Evaluate appropriate commercial and residential door requirements for each job. Determine that openings are prepared correctly to accept the new doors. Determine that the areas near the openings are clear and allow for safe working conditions. Perform related minor work in framing, build-in's, and adjustments. Maintain appropriate parts and tools inventory in the vehicle to ensure that items are available for service/installation work. Review basic floor plans and door details. Perform toolbox/tailgate safety meetings daily. Communicate with appropriate individuals within the organization your progress, any reasons for delay, any safety issues or injuries. Skills/Experience Requirements: At least 1 year related construction experience Excellent telephone, written and verbal communication skills Ability to read and interpret documents such as basic blueprints, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Basic math skills required. Ability to calculate proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to read a tape measure and convert nominal measurements Willingness to learn product and processes. Must have valid DL and no DUI violations Basic understanding of wiring diagrams Minimum Educational Requirements High School Diploma or GED Physical/Work Environment Requirements: Ability to work in outside weather conditions Ability to lift up to 100 pounds. Repetitive standing, lifting, reaching, bending, climbing, & kneeling Working on ladders at varying heights Must pass basic hearing and eyesight tests, to ensure safety on job site
