Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills to deal effectively and confidentially with a diverse group of District staff, contractors and the public.The ability to work independently and to plan and carry out assignments with frequent interruptions and minimal supervision within the approved policies and procedures of the District.Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board may find appropriate and acceptable.JOB GOALTo assist the Transportation Coordinator in providing the District with safe, reliable, and fiscally responsible transportation solutions through equitable and efficient allocation of department resources ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSPerforms general secretarial duties including, preparation and typing of reports and spreadsheets, scheduling meetings and appointments, placing and receiving telephone calls, maintaining files, copying and distribution of information and materials, assisting District staff, bus drivers, contractors and public.Assists the Transportation Coordinator with planning and coordination of the pupil transportation services and the computerized bus routing system.Maintains current student demographic information within transportation routing system. Creates and maintains safe and efficient transportation routes. Assists the Transportation Coordinator with planning and coordination of the pupil transportation services and the computerized bus routing system.Assists the Transportation Coordinator with the annual state transportation reports and audits and maintaining proper documentation.Assists with the coding of transportation invoices.Completes the billing for field trips and other association student activities involving transportation.Completes monthly fuel summary, planning and distribution to transportation contractors. Assists with road hazard evaluations for state submission.Creates and maintains a database for the storage of transportation information required to complete state reportAssists with coordination of all transportation for athletics and student activities Assists with communication with to various stakeholders regarding schedule changes due to weather, transportation delays, accidents and other transportation related topics.Process all internal and interoffice mail for the District including proper postage of all external mail.Greet all incoming visitors to the Operations Building maintaining a welcoming environment and following safety protocols.Participates in ongoing staff development programs, as needed.Demonstrates regular and timely attendance.Maintains proper inventory records of transportation resources such as radios, video equipment, specialized equipmentPerforms other duties and assumes other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Transportation Coordinator and/or SuperintendentTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential function satisfactorily.
