Aquatics Basketroom Worker

Salary: $9.73 Hourly Location : Shelby, NC Job Type: Seasonal Department: Parks & Recreation Division: Parks Seasonal Opening Date: 02/18/2026 FLSA: Non-Exempt General Description Work is performed under the direction of the Aquatics Center Manager and Assistant Manager(s). Operates the front desk at the Pool which is known as the basket room. Performs jobs taking tickets and ensures pool rules are being followed. Essential FunctionsSupervising aquatics center basket room area and restrooms; Greeting patrons; Performs duties of maintaining cleanliness of restrooms for swim meets special events and pool parties; Helps assure the safety of patrons of all ages. Instructs patrons as relates to aquatics center rules, regulations, and procedures; Ensures the cleanliness and safety of the facility; Keep patrons' items in the baskets in the basket room if patrons choose; Prepares written and oral reports and performs related tasks as required; Keeps daily revenue sheet to make sure ticket sales match up with money taken. Typical Qualifications CPR, AED, and First Aid certified. Complete understanding and ability to follow written departmental policies; Knowledge of the practices, methods, and policies used in municipal aquatic center operations; Knowledge of state and local regulations relating to swimming pools; Ability to direct and supervise patrons of all ages; Ability to follow instructions from supervisors(s); Ability to establish and maintain working relationship with city officials, supervisor(s), co-workers, aquatic center patrons and guests, groups, agencies, and the general public.
