About Facility: o 201 E. Grover St, Shelby NC 28150 o 241 licensed beds o Level 3 Trauma o Teaching Hospital? No o Certified Chest Pain Center o Stroke Center ? Unit Information: o Beds: 32 o Minimum Years of Experience required? 18 months PCU RN experience o Will you accept a first-time traveler? Yes ? Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: o Could see any patient not requiring mechanical ventilation – CHF, Dysrhythmia, Chest Pain work up, Stroke, Abdominal illnesses and infections, Respiratory illness, Diabetes, AKI/CKD, ETOH withdrawal, IVDA, etc. ? Patient Ratios: o RN: 1:4 is most common; could possibly go to 1:5 depending on acuity o LPN (if applicable): 4:1 o CNA: Days 1:12; Nights 1:16 ? Required Licensure & Certifications: o BLS, ACLS, NIHSS ? Skills required: o Experience with traches, cardiac gtt experience, cardiac rhythm interpretation, chest tubes, blood products, wound care/dressing changes, management of central lines ? Support within the Department: o CNA - ADL's o Receptionist/HUC? Dayshift only o Charge nurse – Resource to assist with all nursing care o Phlebotomy? Yes, other than nurse draws o IV/VAT Team o RT, 24/7 o Hospitalist, 24/7 o Intensivist, 24/7 o Telemetry monitoring – bedside and nurses station ? Technology/Equipment: o EMR: EPIC o IV Pump: Alaris o Med dispensing: Omnicell o Monitors: Phillips ? Floating: o Within region and scope of practice o Will be required to float per region needs – will require floating to all facilities listed below, as needed, within scope of practice – DECLINE if not agreeable ? Region 3 - Cleveland, Kings Mtn, Lincoln, Central Division (CMC Main Mercy LCH) ? If floating mid-shift, Traveler will be paid for the time traveling between facilities (will remain on the clock) ? Orientation (facility and unit): o NEO o 2 days departmental ? Scheduling: o Weekend rotation: every other o Call: Possibility of low census call. Can be called back up to 3a for Nights and up to 3p for Days o Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays o RTO: Can approve up to 6 days off, excluding holidays – must add time to the end of the contract if unable to meet contracted hours o Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks ?
