Reporting to the Production Manager, the Production Supervisor - CNC is responsible for leading daily operations of the CNC department to deliver safe, high-quality, on-time production. This role drives team performance, process efficiency, and continuous improvement by aligning people, equipment, materials, and schedules to meet project deadlines, capacity targets, and budget expectations. The supervisor sets the standard for accountability, craftsmanship, and collaboration while actively developing team capability and supporting DI's mission to create remarkable experiences. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to: Lead and supervise day-to-day operations of CNC/LSAM/Laser to meet safety, quality, schedule, and efficiency targets Participate in project kickoffs, planning meetings, and operational reviews to support execution readiness Plan, prioritize, and adjust workflow based on project schedules, capacity, and resource availability Partner with Project Engineers and Production leadership to align scope, timelines, and material readiness Monitor equipment performance, preventative maintenance, and tooling needs; recommend process or equipment improvements Review toolpaths, setups, and material plans to proactively identify risks, rework, and constraints Drive continuous improvement initiatives that reduce waste, increase throughput, and improve quality Track and report performance metrics, capacity, and production efficiencies; implement corrective actions as needed Ensure accurate timekeeping, inventory reporting, material issuance, and purchasing coordination Maintain strict adherence to QA standards, safety policies, and DI operational procedures Lead hiring, onboarding, training, coaching, and performance management for CNC team members Conduct regular 1:1s, annual reviews, career development plans, and performance improvement plans as needed Allocate labor effectively, manage overtime needs, and coordinate cross-department resource support Encourage a positive, accountable, and collaborative team culture aligned with DI Core Values KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Strong leadership presence with the ability to hold teams accountable while maintaining respect and trust Demonstrates ownership, adaptability, and a commitment to operational excellence Advanced ability to read and interpret drawings, toolpaths, and manufacturing documentation Deep knowledge of CNC processes, materials (MDF, hardwood, metal, plastics, foam, etc.), and fabrication workflows Excellent problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making in a fast-paced production environment High attention to detail with a strong focus on quality and continuous improvement Effective communicator who is transparent, solution-oriented, and confident across teams Financial and operational awareness, including efficiency, labor utilization, and cost impact EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 8+ years of CNC programming and manufacturing experience (design/build or fabrication environment preferred) OSHA certification, CPIM, or similar credentials a plus 5+ years of leadership or supervisory experience in a production setting Proficiency in Mastercam required CNC, Machining, or Trade certification preferred PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
