Primary Purpose of PositionPerforms advanced technical/engineering problem solving in support of nuclear plant operations. Responsible for technical decisions. Possesses excellent knowledge in functional discipline and its practical application and has detailed knowledge of applicable industry codes and regulations. Primary Duties and AccountabilitiesProvide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage and implement engineering analysis, activities and programs.Provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems.Provides initial or complete task management of engineering issues.Accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management and assuring that standard design criteria, practices, procedures and codes are used in preparation of plans and specifications.Perform independent research, reviews, studies and analyses in support of regulatory/technical projects and programs.Recommend equipment, new concepts and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations.Perform other job assignments and duties as directed by management or pursuant to company policy, including but not limited to emergency response, departmental coverage, call outs, and support of outage activities in positions outside the department. Minimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in a technical field (non-engineer) and 6 years of Nuclear or related industry experience ORAssociate's degree in a technical field and 8 years of nuclear or related industry experience ORHigh school diploma/GED and a minimum of 9 years of nuclear or related experience of which 6 years should be at the exempt levelWorking knowledge of engineering processes and systems required for the specific functional areaMaintain minimum access requirement or unescorted access requirements, as applicable, and favorable medical examination and/or testing in accordance with position duties Preferred QualificationsExperience with field testing like:Protective Relaying testing (electro-mechanical, solid state, and microprocessor)Current and Potential transformer testingPower Transformer testingPower Transformer monitoring system testing and maintenanceCircuit and trip testingHigh Potential and Megger (insulation resistance) testingExperience utilizing testing equipment like:Doble, Manta, Megger, and Omicron power systems simulator equipmentAC and DC High Potential test equipmentMegger, Tan Delta and other insulation testing equipmentDC resistance test equipmentPanel meter calibration equipmentCT analyzing equipmentUse of computer software to interface with plant equipment and test equipment  Experience providing routine maintenance and preventative maintenance like:Protective relay calibration/maintenanceGenerator voltage regulator preventative maintenanceDistributed control system administration and maintenanceSequence of Events recorder maintenanceSecurity systems maintenance
