The practice will be largely independent, but may provide in-basket support for other GI providers as needed (vacation coverage). The schedule includes 36 hrs clinic/week, typically seeing ~6 consults/day in addition to follow ups, with 4 hrs admin time/week and 8 hr shifts (typically 8-430p) on day shifts. There are no weekends or call required. The principle responsibilities include providing clinical care for patients, completing comprehensive patient assessments, determining diagnosis and treatment of illness, ordering and interpreting medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician, prescribing medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment, conducting patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care, and referring for specialty care when determined. The Nurse Practitioner will also consult with physician when patient needs are outside of Nurse Practitioner scope of practice, diagnosis or treatment plan is unclear. Required qualifications include a Master's degree - completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program and at least 3 years' experience as a NP. Licenses/certifications required include Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire, Certified Nurse Practitioner - American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification within specialty required upon hire, Certified Nurse Practitioner - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire, ACLS-BLS Tier 2 - Multisource required within 180 Days, Drug Enforcement Administration required upon hire, and a valid Driver's License required upon hire - MN and WI residents must obtain a valid driver's license in their state of residence within 60 days of employment for those working in Complex Care for Seniors, Community Palliative Care and Hospice. Physical demands include medium work: lifting weight up to 32 lbs. occasionally (Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), up to 25 lbs. frequently. Pay range is $58.75 to $81.29 per hour. The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
