Job Details Assignment Length: 13 weeks (June 1, 2026 - August 31, 2026) Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,440 - $3,690 Location: Santa Rosa, CA 95405 (Sonoma County, Northern California) Setting: General Surgery - Acute Care / Perioperative Shifts: 12-hour shifts (Any), 2 weeks on/2 weeks off or more availability preferred Hours per Week: 36 Employment Type: Travel, Locum Tenens, Contract Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Required Qualifications Minimum 1 year recent acute care or general surgery experience (inpatient surgical NP, perioperative care) Active California NP license (RN/NP) and CA DEA registration National certification as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) Board Certified or Board Eligible within 3-5 years of residency Current BLS and ACLS certifications Operating Room (OR) experience required; surgical assisting and perioperative management preferred Clean professional record and ability to provide recent hospital clinical activity and case logs Willingness to complete hospital credentialing and privileging documentation Responsibilities Provide acute care and perioperative management for general surgery patients, including pre-op and post-op care Perform patient assessments, surgical rounds, and develop comprehensive care plans for inpatient surgical patients Assist surgeons and participate in the operating room as needed; support surgical teams and physician assistants Manage consults, admissions, discharges, and inpatient follow-up for surgical services Document patient encounters, maintain accurate medical records, and ensure compliance with hospital policies Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes in a busy acute care setting Why Santa Rosa & Sonoma County Santa Rosa, CA offers a high quality of life with scenic vineyards, farm-to-table dining, arts and outdoor recreation close to the Pacific Coast.
