Agency Overview The New Mexico Health Care Authority (HCA) is a cabinet-level state agency with its mission to ensure all New Mexicans can achieve their highest level of health by delivering whole-person, cost-effective, accessible, high-quality health care and safety-net services. Today, our programs touch one in every two residents of the state, with nearly 2,000 staff across 40+ offices statewide. Operating in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment, HCA works closely with community partners, the Legislature, and state, tribal and federal agencies to advance health equity and long-term reform. This high-level position offers an opportunity to shape the future of New Mexico's health care system and safety-net services at the highest levels of state government, working alongside a dedicated team committed to service, innovation, and collaboration.
