Job Title: Histology TechnicianLocation: Santa Rosa, CA 95405 Job Type: Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Shift (Saturday - Thursday) Hours: 40 hours/week (5x8) Shift Timing: 11:00 PM - 08:30 AMPosition Summary"Navitas Healthcare, LLC" is an experienced Histology Technician to support an acute care laboratory setting. The role involves preparing and processing tissue specimens for microscopic evaluation, performing grossing and histology procedures, and ensuring specimen integrity and accuracy for pathologist review.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare tissue specimens for histological examinationPerform grossing of surgical and pathological specimens following lab protocolsProcess, embed, section, and stain tissue samplesOperate and maintain histology laboratory equipmentEnsure accurate specimen identification, labeling, and trackingEvaluate slides for technical quality prior to pathologist reviewMaintain detailed laboratory records and documentationFollow laboratory safety, infection control, and compliance standardsSupport quality assurance and continuous improvement initiativesCoordinate equipment maintenance and manage laboratory suppliesCollaborate with pathologists and laboratory staff to ensure timely turnaroundMaintain specimen integrity throughout all stages of processingQualificationsMinimum 2 years of Histology experience requiredStrong grossing experience required (mandatory)Acute care or hospital laboratory experience requiredCalifornia state license preferred (pending license accepted)First-time travelers accepted (strong experience preferred)Strong communication skills in English (reading, writing, speaking)Required Skills & CompetenciesStrong knowledge of histology techniques (processing, embedding, microtomy)High attention to detail and specimen accuracyAbility to work independently in a night shift environmentStrong time management and organizational skillsKnowledge of laboratory safety and compliance standardsTeam-oriented approach in a clinical laboratory settingFor more details contact athdavda@or Call / Text at 516-862-1169.About Navitas Healthcare, LLC certified WBENC and one of the fastest-growing healthcare staffing firms in the US providing Medical, Clinical and Non-Clinical services to numerous hospitals.
