Details Position is based in a surgical/medical-surgical nursing unit within a hospital setting 12-hour night shifts, 7:00 PM - 7:30 AM, three days per week (0.9 FTE) 36 hours per week Weekend and on-call/call-back shifts required as needed Floating between departments and/or local locations within 20 miles is required Epic EMR used; on-site training available for those without prior Epic experience Requirements Active RN license for the State of New Mexico or a Compact State license currently in hand Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross Minimum of two years of current Med/Surg RN experience required At least one completed 13-week travel assignment required ADN or ASN degree required Must be a team player, flexible, and comfortable in a fast-paced environment English proficiency (speak, read, and write) required Additional Information Candidate must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates are not accepted Former permanent staff of Presbyterian Health Services must wait one year before being considered as a traveler Responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, evaluating, and documenting individualized patient care Coordinates care in collaboration with patients, families, and the broader healthcare team Administers medications and treatments per physician orders or standard protocols Identifies and addresses patient and family education and discharge planning needs throughout the episode of care Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel Completes required population/age-specific and procedure competency education and testing per unit standards American Traveler Job ID P-682151.
