Job Summary Insight Schools of California (a network of three public charter schools) delivers online/virtual home"‘based instruction to students in grades 9"‘12 in California. Insight Schools of California serves at"‘risk students. K"‘12, Inc. is our curriculum provider and you will instruct your students online via a Class Connect Program. Education Specialists are responsible for the specialized academic instruction (SAI) for students with disabilities and for case"‘management duties. You will manage a caseload of students, including scheduling and holding IEP meetings. Your caseload may include a wide grade range (grades"¯9"‘12), but when you teach SAI classes or provide specialized services in general"‘education classes, the instruction will be focused on a narrower grade range and aligned with students' goals and the relevant standards. Communication is primarily virtual"”via video conference, teleconference, phone, email, and instant messaging"”and you may be required to attend in"‘person meetings, trainings, and state testing events near your residence. Responsibilities Provide specialized academic instruction (SAI) for students with disabilities. Maintain and manage a caseload of students (grades"¯9"‘12). Schedule and conduct Individualized Education Program (IEP) meetings. Coordinate instruction with general"‘education teachers to ensure alignment with standards and student goals. Communicate with students, parents, and staff primarily through video conference, teleconference, phone, email, and instant messaging. Attend periodic in"‘person meetings, trainings, and state testing sessions as required. Qualifications Must live in California. Hold a valid California Education Specialist Instruction Credential in Mild/Moderate or the new Mild/Moderate Support Needs and/or Moderate/Severe Disabilities or the new Extensive Support Needs. Hold a California English Learner (ELL) Authorization, certification issued by the California Teaching Credentialing Program to teach ELL students, at the time of application.
