San Antonio - Licensed Vocational Nurse

Salary starting at $50,000 - $1,000 Sign on Bonus! (excludes PRN Staff; Attendance and Performance considered) South Texas Community Living is hiring a full-time or part-time LVN to provide nursing coordination to individuals with intellectual disabilities in group home and natural home settings. This position is similar to home-health nursing, with some duties and documentation specific to meet the unique requirements of HCS and/or ICF regulations. Our program provides a rewarding job experience for anyone interested in promoting the independence of people with disabilities. FT Shift(s): Monday - Friday Hours: 11:00AM - 7:00PM or 7:00AM-3:00PM LVN Duties include but are not limited to: Patient assessment Monitoring unlicensed personnel (direct care staff) in the performance tasks delegated by the supervising RN. Training of direct care staff Ordering medications and monitoring medication supplies Coordinating medical appointments. Communicating medical issues to family members of patients, and General Nursing task as assigned. Benefits: Health Insurance (after 90 days) 401K (after 1 year) Paid Time Off (immediate accrual) Qualifications: Valid LVN License Required Valid and current Texas Driver's License Clear Background Check Clear DMV Check High School Diploma or Equivalent Proof of Education No confirmation of Abuse/Neglect/Exploitation of an elderly or disabled person No history of Medicaid fraud. Experience working with people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (group home experience preferred) Strong communication and team-participation skills; friendly, positive attitude. General computer skills (not necessarily expert); be able to use Word, Excel, Outlook, and general internet navigation. Must have excellent time management skills. Must be capable of multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.
