Job Description: The Psychology Department at Our Lady of the Lake University in San Antonio invites applications for two tenure-track faculty positions at the Assistant / Associate Professor rank to primarily serve the APA-accredited Counseling Psychology PsyD program beginning August 2026.The OLLU Psychology Department offers the following degrees: PsyD in Counseling Psychology and MS in Psychology, with concentrations in Marriage and Family Therapy and School Psychology. The mission of the psychology graduate programs is to prepare culturally competent professionals who are skilled in providing strengths-based psychotherapy to individuals, couples and families from diverse backgrounds. Graduate students may complete a certificate in providing psychological services in Spanish. The Psychology Department operates a community-based clinic that serves a low-income, multi-ethnic, population presenting with wide-ranging concerns. The clinic offers opportunities for innovative practice, training, and researchPosition duties include, but are not limited to:Teaching masters and doctoral students from Strength-Based, Solution-Focused, Narrative and/or Collaborative Theories with an emphasis on multiculturalism and social justice.Providing "live" supervision (from a Systemic theory-base) to a weekly therapy team at the university-sponsored clinic.Chairing and serving on dissertation committees.Academic advising and mentoring of students.Evaluating student comprehensive and clinical qualifying exams.Engaging in program activities such as student recruitment, interviews, program evaluation.Conducting and engaging students in research and scholarly activities.Serving on university committees.Possible courses to be taught may include: (courses may be negotiated)Assessment CoursesLife Planning and Career DevelopmentHuman Development Across the LifespanResearch MethodsCognition & EmotionBehavioral NeuroscienceRequirements: Required Qualifications:Doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from an APA accredited program;Licensed or License-Eligible as a Psychologist in TexasExpertise in teaching graduate & doctoral students & Expertise in supervisionExpertise in qualitative research methodsExpertise in brief, systemic, strengths-based approaches to psychotherapy - Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Narrative TherapyPreferred Qualifications:Experience teaching and supervising graduate and doctoral studentsAAMFT approved supervisor or eligible to become a supervisor in trainingProficient in SpanishLicensed as a psychologist in Texas within one year or hire (if not licensed)Additional Information: For questions about the position contact: Dr Deborah Hendren at with Our Lady of the Lake University is contingent upon the applicant undergoing a background investigation.OLLU seeks to attract, develop and retain the highest quality faculty, staff and administrators.
