Purchasing Coordinator

The Purchasing Coordinator plays a critical role in supporting Taylor Farms' day-to-day operations by ensuring timely and accurate procurement of packaging and ingredients. This position is responsible for executing daily purchasing activities, monitoring inventory levels, and coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to maintain uninterrupted production. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.Execute daily purchasing activities for packaging and ingredient categories based on production needs and inventory levelsMonitor inventory levels, usage trends, and upcoming demand to ensure proper replenishmentPlace purchase orders and confirm order accuracy, pricing, and delivery timelinesCoordinate with suppliers to ensure on-time deliveries and proactively address potential supply disruptionsTrack and manage order status, including expediting critical items when necessaryPartner with production, planning, and warehouse teams to align on demand and inventory requirementsMaintain accurate records of purchase orders, supplier communications, and inventory movementsSupport supplier performance tracking, including service levels and responsivenessAssist in resolving receiving discrepancies, quality issues, and invoice variancesIdentify opportunities to improve ordering processes, reduce waste, and optimize inventory levelsRequired Experience Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, or related field (or equivalent experience)1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain (food manufacturing preferred)Strong organizational skills with high attention to detailAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environmentProficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar)Strong communication and problem-solving skillsAbility to build effective working relationships with suppliers and internal teamsJob LocationSalinas, CA, United States
