Job Description:
The Accounting Clerk is responsible for supporting the accounting department by performing a variety of financial and clerical tasks. This position ensures accurate financial recordkeeping, processes transactions, reconciles accounts, and assists with daily accounting operations to maintain the financial integrity of the organization. Key Responsibilities Process and post accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions Record daily deposits and maintain accurate financial records Reconcile bank statements and general ledger accounts Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing procedures Verify and enter invoices into the accounting system Maintain vendor files and assist with vendor inquiries Prepare and process checks and electronic payments Review and reconcile accounting schedules Assist with inventory adjustments and financial reporting Maintain organized accounting documentation and filing systems Respond to internal and external accounting inquiries Support the accounting team with administrative tasks as needed Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred Previous accounting or bookkeeping experience preferred Strong attention to detail and accuracy Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software Ability to maintain confidentiality with financial information Strong organizational and time-management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team John Jones Auto Group is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
