Position Overview: Siemens Mobility is seeking a highly motivated Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional to support and advance a proactive, high-performance safety driven Organizational Culture at our Sacramento, California Light Passenger Rail and Locomotive manufacturing facility. This is a second shift position. This role partners closely with operations, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and leadership to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective environmental and safety controls in alignment with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations. The EHS Professional plays a visible, hands-on role across the manufacturing campus, with significant presence on the production floor. The position supports daily EHS operations while also contributing to the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of EHS programs, policies, and management systems. The role requires strong technical knowledge, data-driven problem-solving skills, and the ability to influence safe behaviors through collaboration, communication, and leadership. What your day may look like: EHS Program Implementation & Compliance * Support the implementation, execution, and continuous improvement of Siemens Mobility EHS programs, policies, and procedures. * Ensure compliance with OSHA, Cal/OSHA, EPA, and other applicable federal, state, and local regulations. * Conduct routine EHS inspections, audits, and risk assessments across manufacturing, maintenance, and support areas. * Review new equipment, processes, and projects for EHS impacts and provide corrective or preventive recommendations. Hazard Identification & Risk Management * Partner with supervisors, managers, and employees to proactively identify workplace hazards. * Develop, track, and validate corrective actions to address identified risks. * Support Job Safety Analyses (JSAs), risk assessments, and control implementation. * Maintain a strong on-floor presence, providing real-time coaching and guidance to production teams. Incident Management & Continuous Improvement * Participate in incident investigations, near-miss reviews, and root cause analyses. * Ensure timely reporting, documentation, and closure of corrective actions. * Analyze EHS data, metrics, and trends to identify opportunities for improvement and measure performance effectiveness. * Develop and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to support data-driven decision-making. Training & Employee Engagement * Deliver and support EHS training for employees and contractors, including regulatory and site-specific requirements. * Promote employee participation in safety initiatives and foster a culture of accountability and engagement. * Serve as a trusted EHS resource, providing guidance and professional support to frontline teams. Program Ownership & Technical Focus Areas * Support and/or manage core EHS programs, including: * Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) * Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) * Hazard Communication and SDS management * Contractor Safety * Chemical management and waste disposal * Emergency preparedness and response coordination * Fall Protection * Collaborate with internal stakeholders, consultants, and subject matter experts to implement best practices. Digital Tools & Cross-Functional Collaboration * Utilize EHS management systems, data analytics tools, and Microsoft Office applications to track performance and document compliance. * Participate in cross-functional initiatives and support Siemens Mobility North America EHS programs and strategic initiatives. * Contribute to development of procedures, tools, and approaches within established EHS frameworks. What will make you successful in this role: * Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field. * 3-5 years of progressive EHS experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (rolling stock or heavy manufacturing preferred). * Working knowledge of OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and EPA regulations. * Proficiency with EHS management systems, data analysis, and Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook). * Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels. * Ability to manage multiple priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, production-focused environment. * Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without current or future sponsorship. What will make you stand out: * Professional EHS certification (e.g., ASP, CSP, CHST) or ability to obtain certification within 12 months of hire. * Experience working within a matrixed or large corporate organization. * Familiarity with Siemens systems, tools, or processes. * Experience supporting contractor safety programs. * Residence in California; proximity to the Sacramento area preferred.
