Salary and Benefits: The salary for newly appointed law enforcement Border Patrol Agents ranges from GL-9/GS-11, $63,148 - $120,145 per year. In addition, you can earn locality pay based on your duty station, and potentially receive overtime pay of up to 25%. As a BPA, you are in a career ladder position, progressing from GL-9 to GS-11 and then GS-12, with eligibility for promotion after one year in each grade level. Incentives: Recruitment Incentive: New hires may receive up to $20,000 in incentives, with $10,000 paid after completing training, and another $10,000 for accepting roles in high-priority locations. Job Responsibilities: As a Border Patrol Agent, you will play a vital role in protecting the American populace by securing borders and deterring illegal activities. If you have a law enforcement or military law enforcement background, you might qualify for the GS-11 level, requiring one year of specialized experience in law enforcement operations.
