Full-time APP opportunity to join a collaborative and highly respected Cardiothoracic group in Beautiful Rome GA! Qualifications: Current License (Advanced Practice Registered Nurse / Physician Assistant) Current ACLS certification Minimum of two years relevant APP experience in cardiovascular/thoracic surgery is desired. One year of relevant APP experience in the critical care setting also is strongly desired Position Requires: Evidence of knowledge and skill in applying principles of sterile technique in a surgical setting and infection control Knowledge and skill in surgical anatomy, physiology, operative procedures, and perioperative care Well-balanced and developed clinical assessment skills Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills Ability to perform effectively in stressful and emergency situations Excellent communication with all members of the care team as well as patients, families, and members of the community from diverse backgrounds Ability to work independently, under the direct supervision and guidance of the supervising physician Responsibilities Full perioperative scope of practice Shared floor responsibilities (Rounds) Consults, Discharges, Clinic follow-up Outpatient care coordination as needed Takes complex medical histories on patients referred for consultation by academic and community physicians Performs physical examinations Orders laboratory tests, x-rays, special imaging studies and other diagnostic procedures Reaches tentative diagnosis of medical, surgical and other conditions Develops treatment plans in conjunction with attending physician to provide optimal patient medical management Maintain a professional behavior in attitudes, demeanor, and interactions to achieve organization's mission Is approachable and professional in working with other health professionals, patients and their family
