Electrical Apprentice – Low Voltage (Entry Level)Workplace: On-site — Large Data Center Project Schedule: Mon-Friday 6:00 AM–6PM ( 5×10s)Employment Type: Contract-to-HirePay: $19–$22/hrOverviewA large data center construction project is seeking an Entry-Level Electrical/Low Voltage Apprentice. This role is ideal for someone coming from a low-voltage or electrical trade school, or anyone looking to begin a career in structured cabling and electrical pathways. You will work alongside experienced technicians and gain hands-on training in cabling, telecommunications infrastructure, and data center build-out operations.This project offers strong long-term growth and advancement into multiple technical departments.ResponsibilitiesLow Voltage & Electrical InstallationPull, route, and stage low-voltage cabling (Cat5/6, fiber, etc.)Assist lead technicians with installing communication and electrical pathways(cable trays, wireway, bus duct, racks, backboards, and equipment)Install devices such as switches and receptacles under supervisionTerminate and punch down 110/66 blocks and patch panelsInstall grounding for racks and equipmentHelp construct equipment rooms and structured cabling systemsGeneral Apprentice SupportSupport Tech 2 and lead technicians with daily installation tasksTransport and organize materials on-siteWork safely with ladders, lifts, and toolsKeep work areas clean and organizedLift and move materials up to 40 lbsTools & EquipmentExperience using or willingness to learn:Cable cutters, snips, cable strippersHammer drills and compression toolsNeedle-nose and channel-lock pliersTape measure, torpedo level, drywall sawHand tools required for basic installation tasksRequired QualificationsEntry-level skill set OR completion of a low-voltage/electrical trade programReliable transportation to the job siteAbility to work at heightsValid driver’s licenseAble to lift 40 lbsMust have or be able to obtain an OSHA 10 certificationMust own and be proficient with basic hand toolsPreferred (Nice-to-Have)Scissor lift certificationAny previous cabling, electrical, or construction labor experienceVeteran statusTelecommunications or low-voltage trade school trainingWork EnvironmentOn-site at a large-scale data center buildRequired PPE at all times (safety glasses, vest, gloves)Steel-toe boots requiredLong-term project with increasing hours and overtime potentialWhy This Role Is a Great OpportunityMulti-year data center construction projectHands-on low-voltage and telecom trainingGrowth opportunities in telecom, security, and communications teamsPromote-from-within cultureConsistent full-time hours with potential overtimeJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Barker, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
