Description POSITION: Radio Broadcast Traffic CoordinatorDIVISION: RadioCLASSIFICATION: Full-time, Non-exemptREPORTS TO: Radio Broadcast Operations ManagerPAY: 24 - $26 per hr commensurate w/exp. Summary: To support the operations of the WXXI Radio Services daily through effective scheduling of all programming. To provide program information to station management, employees, and customers.Essential/Duties: 1. Prepare daily station program logs using the Allegiance traffic program. Prepare daily Radio program playlists for automation using the Enco Digital audio Delivery System.2. Monitor schedules, recordings, and downloading programs for FM 105.9, FM 91.5/90.3, WRUR 88.5, WITH 90.1, and WEOS 89.5 network feeds using the PRSS system and various other sources for programming.3. Edit syndicated and recorded programs for daily broadcast as needed. 4. Maintain broadcast continuity, including production and scheduling of program promos, imaging spots, and stations announcements.5. Check completed logs for errors, discrepancies, and oversee corrections. Aid with unresolved underwriting issues. Manage audio inventory of underwriting credits. Aid in the debriefing of daily program logs for invoicing purposes. 6. Enter and schedule program format changes into the Traffic system.7. Assist with various projects- as assigned by management. 8. Serve as back-up for the Broadcast Operations Manager and carry out specific duties of this position in her/his absence. 9. Other duties as assigned.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Excellent communication skills. Ability to interact with upper management and co-workers. Very organized with great attention to detail. Possess the ability to manage a diverse workload; work effectively under pressure in a fast- paced environment . Possess sharp judgment skills with the ability to make critical decisions. Possess knowledge of traffic department duties and how they relate to the operation of a radio station. Must have an excellent work ethic and possess the ability to work equally as a team player and individually. Position Requirements Experience & Requirements: Two years of broadcast experience; public radio experience preferred, especially past work in production. Familiarity with public broadcasting regulations and operations, particularly with respect to Traffic and on-air credit language. Experience in networked computer use, preferably in a Windows environment. Ability to work independently and productively in a deadline driven environment. Requires great attention to detail. Strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with classical music terminology is helpful. Strong computer skills, with the ability to work independently. Demonstrate aptitude for the operation of studio broadcast equipment. The ability to read, write, and speak English conversationally is very helpful.This position is currently accepting applications.
