Childcare Provider- Part-time

The Center for Youth: Started BY YOUTH FOR YOUTH. We partner with youth to realize their full potential, by creating opportunities, removing barriers and promoting social justice. Overview: During a crisis, such as an accident, sudden illness, or housing emergency, a caregiver can bring their children to the Crisis Nursery or Owen House. Staff provides free, temporary, professional care to birth to 14 years old. Schedule: Part time, Monday 4pm-12am, Wednesday and Thursday 4pm-8pm, Saturday 8am-4pmResponsibilities:Recognize, document and take appropriate action in the case of suspected abuse, illness or accidentMaintain a clean, organized, appealing environment that promotes comfort and securityMaintain constant surveillance of the surrounding outdoor environmentEnsure that each child receives nutritious meals, meeting their daily requirementMaintain fair and orderly control, with constant supervision of childrenHelp children learn through setting limitsWork with other childcare providers, volunteers and parents to best meet the needs of the children in our careBe professional when consulting with parents, provider and family members Maintain confidentiality Record timely, complete, legible documentation of child's observed behaviorsRequired Qualifications: High School Degree OR GED OR Equivalent AND 2 years' experience in paid or unpaid childcare Must be 18 years of age Skills: Excellent literacy and communication skills Pay Rate: $19- $21 per hour The Center for Youth Provides Equal Employment Opportunities
