Job SummaryWe are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Billing Clerk to join our team. This role plays a critical part in ensuring accurate billing and timely claim processing by supporting back-office billing operations, verifying patient and payer information, and resolving claim issues.Key ResponsibilitiesReview, correct, and edit billing errors to ensure claims are submitted accurately and on timeIdentify and resolve issues related to patient demographics, diagnosis codes, payer information, and claim rejections or denialsCollaborate closely with the billing team on back-office billing and verification tasksUse Excel extensively to update, track, and process patient account informationResearch and obtain missing or incomplete information needed to complete patient accountsContact current patients via phone or written communication to obtain required account details in a professional and courteous mannerProcess paper reports and accurately enter updates into the billing system or EMRMaintain data accuracy and confidentiality while working with sensitive patient information Skills & QualificationsStrong attention to detail and accuracyExcellent written and verbal communication skillsComfortable working in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office SuiteAbility to manage data entry and documentation efficientlyBasic understanding of customer service principlesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamExperience with medical billing, hospital billing, or revenue cycle operationsFamiliarity with claims processing and denialsExposure to EMR systems, including Epic (preferred, not required)Previous office, billing, retail, or customer service experienceKnowledge of accounts payable or healthcare administrative workflowsJob Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, NY.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.50/hr.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
