Job Description:
A Long-Term Care Pharmacist in Charge position is available for a direct hire opportunity in Richmond, KY. This role involves full responsibility for pharmacy operations within a closed-door LTC facility, dispensing roughly 600 prescriptions per day. A strong commitment to reliability and attendance is essential, as the site has faced challenges with staffing stability. Prior long-term care experience is highly preferred. Location: Richmond, Kentucky Schedule: Monday through Friday, Day Shift Evening and weekend coverage only if needed Key Responsibilities: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local pharmacy regulations Oversee pharmacy operations including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care Maintain accurate records for prescriptions, inventory, and controlled substances Develop and implement policies and procedures for safe, efficient pharmacy function Lead and support pharmacy staff, including performance evaluations and training Manage medication inventory to balance adequate supply with waste reduction Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurers, and stakeholders to resolve medication issues Address customer inquiries and complaints with timely, professional service Stay informed about industry trends, new medications, and regulatory updates Participate in quality improvement efforts and conduct regular audits Maintain a safe, clean work environment adhering to safety protocols Qualifications: Active, clear KY Pharmacist license 2-4 years of long-term care pharmacy experience Recent pharmacy management experience, preferably in long-term care Familiarity with Frameworks software system preferred (training available) Strong reliability and attendance record If you have the experience and leadership skills to ensure operational excellence and compliance in an LTC pharmacy setting, we encourage you to apply for this direct hire role and make a positive impact on patient care.
