Located in scenic northwestern Wisconsin-just 90 miles from Minneapolis-we offer big-city career opportunities in a small-town atmosphere.Rice Lake Weighing Systems (RLWS), a global organization, is seeking an energetic and adaptable professional to join our team as a Heavy Capacity Specialist.Position SummaryAt RLWS, the Heavy Capacity Specialist role is responsible for a broad range of inside sales and customer support activities focused on truck scales, rail scales, industrial weighing systems, and other heavy capacity solutions. This includes responding to customer inquiries regarding order status, order verification and entry, pricing, delivery on special quotes, application requirements, and technical specifications. The role supports the full sales cycle by helping to develop accurate quotations, ensuring technical and commercial alignment, and coordinating with product management, engineering, production, and field service to meet project requirements.This position ensures all customer interactions are handled in a professional, responsive, and solution-oriented manner, reinforcing RLWS's reputation in the heavy capacity market. As a key member of the team, the Heavy Capacity Specialist collaborates with Production, Product Management, Regional Sales Managers, Distributors, and Service Partners to drive heavy capacity product growth, improve quote-to-order conversion, and deliver an exceptional customer experience from initial inquiry through project completion.Key ResponsibilitiesReceives (by telephone, fax, website, live chat or email) requests for quotations, orders, and lead times from customers. Makes quotations on standard items, enters orders, and relays pertinent order information to customers.Utilizes various portals and M2k system to retrieve customer information, stock information, and the status of purchase orders. Ensures that correct codes are used for retrieving and inputting information.Provides price quotations immediately by phone on catalog items. Prepares price quotations on other products timely and accurately.Partners with customer to evaluate current product offerings and customer's unique needs. Generate special or non-standard quotes; Transfer to the Technical Sales Engineers as needed.Acts as the subject matter expert for particular product line; provides initial level of Product Line Technical Support.Travels to trade shows as assigned and works booth hours as appropriate. Assists with set-up and tear-down as needed.Provides support to the Regional Sales Director including product questions, customer follow-up, and order requests.Promptly inputs all customer complaint information into the COARS database. Responds to any inquires for additional information.Participates in customer VIP visits including training and entertainment opportunities to assure that proper product line awareness is achieved. May perform product and technical instruction for VIPS visits; ensures customers are receiving a high-quality level of technical training.Interface with multiple departments including shipping, accounting, scheduling, technical support, service, engineering, product management and sales & marketing to ensure on-time and accurate product shipments in accordance with customer requirements and manufacturing capabilities.Fosters strong and positive communications with all external and internal customers.Works within the framework of assigned hours in the department while being both available and adaptable to varying work situations.
