Pharmacy Technician

Patient Care NavigatorStatus: Full Time - Non-Exempt Reports to: Pharmacy Director Purpose and Scope of Position Under the direct supervision of the Director of Pharmacy, the Pharmacy Technician supports medication distribution for inpatient, emergency, and outpatient services. This includes managing automated dispensing systems, assisting with telepharmacy operation, and other functions such as compounding in a manner consistent with laws and policies & procedures to ensure 24/7 medication access. Job Requirements Required Qualifications Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED. Active licensure with the Montana Board of Pharmacy is mandatory. Preferred Qualifications National Certification: Candidates with current national certification from the PTCB (CPhT) or NHA (ExCPT) will be highly preferred. Non-certified candidates may be considered with an expectation for fulfillment of certification prior to the expiration date of their provisional license. Special Requirements Must be able to reason independently and work with minimal guidance. Must be able to interpret data and make sound judgments based on those interpretations. Must deal effectively with a wide variety of personalities and situations requiring tact, judgment, and poise. Must be able to adapt to quickly changing priorities and schedules. Must be able to maintain good working relationships with all co-workers and the general public and use good judgment in recognizing scope and authority. Working Conditions Schedule/Conditions Work may be performed in a variety of settings to include office, patient care areas, etc. May be required to travel to other BBC offices that are not located on the main campus May be required to work varying shifts, weekends, or holidays Physical Demands Lift, push, pull, and move 25-30 pounds unassisted. Requires extensive standing and walking. Requires frequent reaching, stooping, bending, kneeling, and crouching. Blood Borne Pathogen Category Category III: Tasks that involve no exposure to blood or body fluids or tissues, and Category I tasks are not a condition of employment.
