Position: Physician Assistant Program - Director of Curriculum Innovation and Program AssessmentPosition Summary: This is a full-time, twelve-month, tenure track faculty position in the emerging Physician Assistant (PA) Program, which will be a part of the College of Health Sciences at Alvernia University. The Director of Curriculum Innovation and Program Assessment will report directly to the PA Program Director. They will be responsible for developing, overseeing, and implementing the curriculum and teaching methodologies as well as ensuring continuous data management, analysis, and reporting for compliance to all ARC-PA, PAEA, and regional accreditation standards. This principal faculty position is instrumental in the day-to-day operations of the Physician Assistant Program and the education of its students. The program location will be at the ReadingCollegeTowne site as of Fall of 2024, if provisional accreditation is obtained.Principal Faculty Duties and Responsibilities: Develop, evaluate, revise, and coordinate didactic and clinical year curriculumWork in collaboration with the Program Director and instructional faculty produce and deliver curriculum contentInstruct didactic and clinical year studentsDevelop and evaluate didactic and clinical year student assessmentsMentor and advise physician assistant studentsParticipate in the development and any necessary revision of the PA Program Mission Statement, Goals, and competenciesParticipate in the evaluation of the overall effectiveness of the Program in meeting its mission and goalsSelect applicants for admissions to the PA ProgramProvide academic counselingParticipate in student remediationParticipate in programmatic self-assessment and planningEvaluate student performanceProvide instruction of content related to clinical expertise and as assigned by course directorsDirector Administrative Responsibilities (In Collaboration with the Program Director):CurriculumDevelop curriculum and implement innovative physician assistant education pedagogies and teaching methodologiesDevelop a comprehensive means to track student competencies and achievement of learning outcomes.Develop specific student remediation plans as neededProvide leadership for curriculum mappingEnsure curriculum is up to date regarding the NCCPA blueprintEnsure curriculum is in full compliance with ARC-PA standardsOrganize and facilitate Curriculum Committee meetingsServe as the main point of contact for the University for all curriculum approvals and revisionsOversee the maintenance of student files that are maintained in EXXAT, and assist the Program maintenance of permanent student files as outlined by the ARC-PAAssessmentParticipate in the PA Program application for provisional accreditation and ongoing self-assessment.Assure that the PA Program follows all ARC-PA accreditation standardsAssist the PA Program Director in completing all ARC-PA documents as required by theARC-PA including applications for accreditation, reaccreditation, and maintenance of accreditationDevelop programmatic reports and surveysEnsure continuous data aggregation, management, and analysis for programmatic self-assessmentOversee the maintenance of instructional faculty files for the Hybrid PA Program as outlined by the ARC-PAReview and update the student and faculty handbooks annually Participate in local and national organizations to insure Program excellence and appropriateness of curriculum and instructionGeneralMentor new facultyParticipate in new student orientation, accepted student webinars/visitation days, and open house sessions for the PA ProgramServe on University and PA Program committees as requested or designatedDemonstrate commitment to the Alvernia Physician Assistant Program mission statement and lead by exampleAll other duties as assigned in support of the mission and goals of the PA programRequired Knowledge, Skills, and AbilitiesStrong organizational skills and keen attention to detailAdept interpersonal and communication skillsSkillful problem-solving capabilitiesAn ability to work effectively in a team environmentPersonal accountability for all duties outlined in the job description and as assigned by the Program DirectorSupervision: Received: PA Program Director Given: N/A Minimum Qualifications: NCCPA certificationAt least three years of clinical experience as a physician assistantAt least three years of experience in PA education and direct experience with ARC-PA accreditation (preferred)Master's degree or higher (preferred)
