Job Summary: The Customer Service Associate plays a vital role in ensuring an efficient and friendly front end. You will provide a clean, convenient shopping experience for our local community while maintaining a positive and customer-friendly attitude. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Ensure accurate checkout totals by properly weighing, keying, and scanning items, while maintaining correct cash counts. Enforce quality control and food safety standards, guaranteeing dated products are stocked and rotated appropriately. Unload deliveries and organize items in designated areas. Stay updated on tender policies relating to checks, credit, debit, coupons, EBT, and WIC. Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers, answering questions, and assisting with product selection. Identify opportunities for process improvements and inform management. Maintain a clean fuel station by inspecting pumps according to Company standards. Adhere to safety protocols to ensure a safe and sanitary environment for customers and partners. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Basic knowledge of cash register operations. Basic understanding of Workforce Management (WFM) systems. Knowledge of fuel station procedures. Ability to handle cash transactions accurately. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Capacity to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. Ability to safely handle sharp objects. Proficiency in manual or electric pallet jack operation (for those 18 years and older). Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays. Attentiveness to potential hazards with quick remediation skills. Proactive in reporting hazards to supervisors. Education, Experience and Qualifications: Typically involves on-the-job training. Minimum age of 18 years required for machinery operation. 21 years or older required for driving Company business in line with Company policy. TABC/LACT/AATC certification required. Food Handler certification required. Fuel Operator C certification required. Physical Demands: Continuous use of close vision and depth perception. Standing or walking for extended periods. Ability to communicate effectively. Frequent handling of objects up to 40 lbs. Ability to bend, kneel, or squat as needed. Occasionally lifting or maneuvering objects up to 75 lbs. Regular attendance is required. Work Context and Environment: Work is primarily conducted in a retail environment. Occasional exposure to extreme temperatures and damp conditions.
