AWOS Field Service Technician (Remote)

With over 20 years of experience as a prime contractor for US Department of Defense aviation weather programs, we provide mission-critical weather intelligence solutions to airports, air medical services, and advanced air mobility operators nationwide.Job DescriptionWe are seeking an experienced AWOS Field Service Technician to join our team in a remote role with extensive travel. This position is responsible for the installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of FAA-certified AWOS equipment at airports and aviation facilities across the United States.QualificationsKey ResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and commission FAA-certified AWOS systems at customer sites nationwidePerform preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of AWOS equipmentConduct system upgrades and modifications in accordance with FAA standardsComplete all required FAA documentation and certifications for installed systemsProvide technical support and training to customers on AWOS operation and maintenanceMaintain detailed service records and documentation for all field activitiesCoordinate with project management and engineering teams on installation schedules and technical requirementsEnsure all work complies with FAA regulations and Mesotech quality standardsRequired QualificationsPrevious experience installing and maintaining FAA AWOS systemsStrong understanding of FAA regulations governing aviation weather systemsProficiency with electronic test equipment and diagnostic toolsExcellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionValid driver'slicense with clean driving recordAbility to travel 70-80% of the time, including overnight staysPhysical ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditionsPreferred QualificationsExperience with multiple AWOS manufacturers and system typesKnowledge of airport operations and communications systemsMilitary or DOD weather systems experienceRemote position based from homeExtensive travel required (70-80%) to customer sites nationwideField work in various weather conditionsOccasional work at heights (towers, rooftops)Flexible schedule to accommodate customer needs and travel requirementsAdditional InformationMesotech offers a comprehensive and generous benefits program including health insurance, retirement plan and travel expense reimbursement.
