Summary:Ready for a job that will throw you for a loop? As a Swan Boat Captain, you'll enjoy the best of both worlds, and create lifelong memories! You'll also ensure the safety and enjoyment of our guests by operating one of our classic Swan Boats and share the history of Storytown USA and Great Escape along the journey. What You Will Be DoingProvide guests with a safe and enjoyable ride experienceEngage and interact with guests as they board the boat and along the course of the rideOperate motorized boat and equipment as well as using various tools to ensure the Historic River Dee is kept in pristine conditionEnsure guests are properly seated and safe throughout the journeyEnforce rider restrictions and measure for height requirementsAssist guests in and out of ride vehicles and cycle through the line efficiently and cautiouslyKeep ride patios and midways clean and looking greatAssist with the operation of our other world class rides which includes checking seat belts, lap bars and doors Act as a first responder to ride emergencies and respond appropriatelyRecite scripted lines and engage with riders in a way that fits the storyline of the attraction Work in themed attire and/or costumesAssist the Entertainment and Ride Operations Departments as necessary in other areas, including during Fright Fest activitiesAssist other Team Members and Departments to support the resort as a wholeHow You Will Do ItAbility to work in a fast-paced environmentAbility to pass ride certification tests with 100% accuracyStrong attention to detail and commitment to safetyFriendly, outgoing personality inviting guests to your boarding stationPositive attitude to make guests excited about their rideComfortable with public speaking / performing in front of guestsComfortable using a headset microphone while ensuring the attraction is being operated safelyAppropriate sense of humor Must react well in stressful and emergency situationsTaking direction from managers and supervisorsWhat You Will NeedMust be 18 years or olderIn rides you must be able to stand, walk, stoop, bend, and reach throughout your shiftExcellent verbal communication skillsAble to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidaysWhy work with us?Paid TrainingAdvancement opportunitiesOvertime pay eligible after 40 hoursYear-round job opportunitiesExclusive employee parties and events for you and your familyPay rate $16.36 per hour
