A demonstrated commitment to working with a diverse student population and to the values of inclusion, engagement, and equity is imperative.Major ResponsibilitiesSUNY Adirondack is seeking qualified candidates to help support our Mechatronics AAS Program as an Assistant/Associate Professor of Mechatronics.The Mechatronics program covers basic electric/electronic circuits, Programmable Logic Controllers, motor controls, robotics and hydraulics/pneumatics.Educational RequirementsThe successful candidate will have a Master’s Degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field). Alternatively, the successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Technology, Mechatronics, or Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (or related field) and substantial industry experience in one or more of the aforementioned areas. Teaching experience at the college level is highly desirable, especially experience in a community college environment. Preference will be given to candidates who demonstrate a commitment to the community college philosophy, familiarity with the use of technology in the classroom, teaching strategies with a focus on student-centered learning, excellent interpersonal skills, and a willingness to work in a collegial setting within the division.SalaryPlacement on salary scale reflects individual degrees/experience. The minimum starting salary is $52,489 and is complemented by a generous benefits package.
