Records & Information Management SpecialistSalary: $70K - $80K/yrAABR has spent nearly seven decades providing services that support people with disabilities in living independent, fulfilling lives. Through Day Habilitation programs, vocational training, and Residential homes across 25+ sites, we operate at a scale that demands rigorous, well-structured information management.AABR is seeking an experienced Records & Information Management Specialist to own and advance our agency-wide records program. This is a field-based position requiring regular travel across our site network to assess compliance, standardize practices, and build sustainable recordkeeping systems. We seek a professional with strong leadership in records management and compliance, operating independently across complex, multi-site environments as well as:Strategic Direction "” Develop and maintain AABR's Records Retention and Destruction Policy across all departments, ensuring compliance with OPWDD, OMIG, HIPAA, and NYS regulations.Field Operations "” Travel regularly to 25+ sites to assess, standardize, and physically organize records "” including sorting, labeling, boxing, and identifying compliance risks.Training & Leadership "” Serve as the agency's records management subject matter expert, providing training to clinical, administrative, and program staff and fostering a culture of compliance and accountability.Systems & Improvement "” Evaluate document management tools, support EHR integration, conduct internal audits, and implement improvements to records practices agency-wide.We offer robust health benefits with a generous employer contribution toward premiums.Fully paid Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance403(b) Retirement PlanLife InsuranceGenerous paid time offEmployee referral programTraining and mentorship programsA diverse and inclusive workplaceWe require:Bachelor's degree in Health Information Management, Public Administration, Business Administration, Library Sciences, or a related field "” or equivalent experienceValid NYS Driver's License and willingness to travel regularlyProven experience designing and implementing a records retention programBackground in records management, compliance, or a healthcare or social services settingWorking knowledge of OPWDD regulations, medical documentation standards, and NYS retention requirementsStrong organizational skills and attention to detailClear, effective communication skills across clinical, administrative, and operational audiencesWe prefer:Experience in an OPWDD-certified or funded agencyFamiliarity with EHR systems and document management platformsCRM, CHC, or similar records management certificationFor immediate consideration, please apply now.AABR is an Equal Opportunity Employer and proud of our workforce diversity.
