Psychiatric Rehabilitation Addictions Specialist - Weekend ServicesFull-TimeSchedule: Three-day, 30-hour Friday-Sunday ScheduleLocation: Princess Anne, MDSalary Range: $40,000-$55,000 annuallyPosition SummaryThe Addictions Counselor for Weekend Services plays a key role in supporting clients along their substance use recovery journey. Using the principles of psychiatric rehabilitation (PSR), this position helps clients build skills, increase independence, strengthen natural supports, and achieve meaningful life goals. This is a full-time, three-day weekend position.Key Principles of Psychiatric Rehabilitation Integrated Into This RoleThis role is grounded in established Psych Rehab principles, including:Person-Centered Planning: Services driven by each client's goals, preferences, culture, and strengths.Hope & Empowerment: Nurturing belief in recovery, autonomy, and personal agency.Strengths-Based Approach: Identifying and building upon the individual capabilities of each client.Self-Determination: Supporting clients in making informed choices about their lives and care.Skill Building & Competency Development: Teaching and reinforcing practical skills for independent living, wellness, social relationships, and community functioning.Community Integration: Helping clients participate fully in community life in the least restrictive setting.Healing-Centered Care: Ensuring physical and emotional safety, choice, trust, and collaboration.Holistic Wellness: Addressing physical, emotional, social, and environmental aspects of health.Job ResponsibilitiesProvide targeted substance use disorder interventions to individuals struggling with co-occurring substance use and mental health issues.Provide ongoing skill development interventions to support independence in daily living, social functioning, and community integration.Document progress, outcomes, and service delivery in accordance with program and regulatory standards.Deliver high-quality, strengths-based services that align with HealthPort's mission of providing sanctuary, support, and recovery-oriented care.Serve as a positive role model by demonstrating healthy coping strategies, professionalism, and ethical practice.Coordinate care with internal and external providers to promote holistic and integrated services.Support clients in managing their healthcare needs, including scheduling, follow-ups, wellness planning, and health literacy.Conduct regular home visits to evaluate and reinforce safety, cleanliness, and daily living skills.Promote community inclusion by connecting clients with resources, educational opportunities, and natural supports.Qualifications, Education & ExperienceAssociate degree in a Human Services field required.Experience working with individuals with chronic mental illness strongly preferred.Certification in Substance User Disorders treatment preferred (ADT, CAC-AD, CSC-AD).Current CPR and First Aid certification.Valid driver's license with safe driving record.Demonstrated skills in conflict resolution, motivational interviewing, and psychiatric rehabilitation principles.About HealthPortHealthPort is a Certified Community Behavioral Health Center offering outpatient therapy, substance use services, and primary care.
