Job Description:
Technical Procurement Specialist Harris & Bruno International is seeking a Technical Procurement Specialist. This individual will be responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing technical goods and services that support manufacturing, engineering, and operational needs. This role partners closely with engineering, operations, and finance to ensure timely procurement, cost control, supplier performance, and compliance with company policies. Key Responsibilities Source and procure technical materials, equipment, components, and services. Prepare and manage RFQs, RFPs, and supplier bid evaluations. Analyze cost, quality, delivery, and technical capability to select suppliers. Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and terms to achieve best value. Collaborate with engineering and operations to understand technical requirements and specifications. Manage purchase orders, contracts, and supplier documentation within ERP systems. Monitor supplier performance and resolve delivery, quality, or cost issues. Ensure compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. Support cost-reduction and continuous improvement initiatives. Drive cost-down initiatives through global sourcing and design-for-cost efforts. Help develop and implement Vendor Scorecard program. Manage and improve supplier performance using scorecards and KPIs. Requirements 35+ years of hands-on procurement or sourcing experience in a technical or operational environment. Experience procuring technical goods, equipment, components, software, or specialized services. Strong understanding of procurement processes including RFQs, supplier evaluation, and negotiations. Ability to read and interpret technical specifications, drawings, or scopes of work. Experience negotiating pricing, delivery schedules, and commercial terms. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel; ERP or procurement system experience preferred. Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally. Preferred Qualifications Experience in manufacturing, engineering, or technology-driven organizations. Familiarity with supplier performance metrics and contract compliance. Professional procurement certifications such as CPSM or CPM.
