Fund Accountant

A growing and highly successful real estate investment firm is seeking to hire a motivated Fund Accountant to join its team in a newly created role. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated accounting professional who enjoys ownership, collaboration, and working in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment.The ideal candidate will oversee the financial reporting and accounting operations for assigned investment entities and work closely with leadership, investors, external auditors, and property management teams.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare quarterly financial reporting on both GAAP and IFRS basesMaintain and reconcile general ledger accounts and prepare journal entriesManage annual audit processes, including preparation of footnotes and supporting schedulesAssist with property valuations and investment analysisPrepare capital call and distribution calculations and investor noticesOversee cash management activities for assigned entitiesReview management fee, incentive fee, waterfall, and promote calculationsPartner with external tax and audit firms to ensure compliance and timely reportingSupport monthly property-level financial reporting and accounting for acquisitions, dispositions, and refinancingsRespond to accounting and reporting requests from partners and stakeholdersAssist with investment closings, bank account setup, and entity administrationQualificationsBachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required4-6 years of accounting and financial reporting experience within investment entities or investment management environmentsStrong understanding of financial reporting, reconciliations, and entity structuresExperience reviewing LLC agreements and loan agreements preferredCPA and/or Big Four experience is a plusReal estate industry experience preferred, but not requiredStrong communication, organizational, and analytical skillsDetail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
