As a privately owned company, decisions are driven by customer needs, innovation, and long-term product reliability.Position SummaryThe Material Planner is responsible for planning, regulating, and maintaining machine parts and inventory levels to support daily production schedules. This role ensures that each day's planned run of parts occurs without interruption by forecasting needs, managing supplier relationships, and coordinating closely with Production Control and Manufacturing leadership.Position Type: Full-Time, ExemptKey ResponsibilitiesPlan part parameters to meet corporate inventory goalsManage and coordinate a large number of suppliers and vendorsOversee high-volume daily part requirementsMonitor supplier performance for timely shipments and material availabilityCollaborate cross-functionally to resolve supplier or material issuesExpedite parts due to discrepancies, quality issues, or shortagesCoordinate and follow up on purchase ordersMonitor delivery schedules and review order accuracyTrack production rates and raw material pricing; communicate with vendors as neededMaintain inventory levels and availability of manufactured or purchased itemsIdentify and resolve scheduling issues that could delay productionPartner with manufacturing, purchasing, and supervisory teams on material statusForecast demand to ensure production deadlines and goals are metDetermine appropriate inventory levels to prevent overstockConduct periodic inventory checksMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in business or related field3+ years of material planning experience in a manufacturing environmentAbility to pass required drug screens, background checks, and pre-employment testingPreferred QualificationsInternational supply chain experience5+ years of experience in inventory control, planning, or expediting in manufacturingKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesProficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and SAPStrong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work independently with minimal supervisionStrong analytical and problem-solving abilitiesExcellent customer relations skillsAbility to manage delivery of production parts across 40+ suppliers and 1,200+ part numbersProactive response to shortages to prevent production downtimeWork EnvironmentPrimarily office-based with occasional work in a manufacturing/factory environmentExposure to noise and temperature variationsPhysical RequirementsRegularly required to sit, use hands, reach, talk, and hearOccasionally required to stand and walkMust frequently lift/move up to 10 lbsRequires close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
