SHR Talent is partnering with a long standing regional CPA Firm based in Ponte Vedra Beach, FL and Gainesville, FL in its search for a skilled and detail-oriented Assurance Senior to lead audits and assurance engagements for a diverse portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate for the Assurance Senior position will bring strong public accounting experience in audit and assurance services, excellent technical knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and proven client management skills. The Assurance Senior role offers growth within a respected regional CPA firm, exposure to industries including healthcare, construction, manufacturing, and nonprofit, and opportunities to mentor staff while delivering high-quality financial reporting, internal control assessments, and advisory services.Responsibilities:Lead planning, execution, and completion of audit and assurance engagements for medium to large clients across multiple industriesSupervise, train, and mentor audit staff; review workpapers and financial statements for accuracy and complianceAssess client's internal controls, identify risks, recommend improvements, and communicate findings to managementPrepare and review financial statements in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) audit proceduresCoordinate fieldwork, manage engagement timelines, staffing, budgets, and client deliverables to meet firm quality standardsProvide technical accounting research and guidance on complex transactions, estimates, and disclosuresBuild and maintain strong client relationships, serving as primary client contact for assigned engagementsSupport business development initiatives, proposal preparation, and client presentations as neededStay current on accounting and auditing standards, regulatory changes, and industry trends, implementing best practices across engagementsUtilize audit software and firm tools to enhance engagement efficiency and qualityQualifications:Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required; Master's degree or further coursework preferredCertified Public Accountant (CPA) license, required, or demonstration of clear path to licensure, or in licensure progress2 - 5+ years of public accounting experience with progressive audit and assurance responsibilities Experience in a regional or national Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firm, preferredStrong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS), and experience with single audits such as A-133 and Uniform Guidance, a plusProven leadership and supervisory experience, with excellent coaching and staff development skillsExceptional analytical, problem-solving, and technical accounting research abilitiesStrong written and verbal communication skillsAbility to present complex financial information clearly to clients and managementProficiency with audit software such as Engagement, CaseWare, and IDEA Experience with Microsoft ExcelExperience with accounting systems such as QuickBooks, Sage and Oracle, preferredCommitment to high ethical standards, attention to detail, and delivering exceptional client service
