The Advocacy & Resource Center is seeking a dependable and detail-oriented professional to join our Human Resources team as an HR Specialist II. This full-time position plays an important role in supporting day-to-day HR operations, with a focus on benefits administration, employee status changes, and general departmental support. Responsibilities include: Assisting with insurance benefits administration Coordinating and tracking FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, NYPSL , NYSDBL and others Supporting retirement benefits administration Assisting with workers' compensation cases and related documentation/Investigations Supporting workplace ADA accommodations Tracking and maintaining accurate records related to benefits, leave, wage, and employment status changes Coordinating and communicating with staff and other departments Maintaining accurate records and files in compliance with agency policies and deadlines Performing general administrative duties and other tasks as assigned Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Office Technology, or a related field preferred Two (2) years of office and Benefits experience Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; familiarity with HR or database systems a plus Strong communication, organizational, and attention-to-detail skills Ability to bend, twist, kneel, climb stairs or ladders, and occasionally lift up to 50 pounds on occasion Must possess a clean and valid New York State Driver's License Generous benefits package includes: • Health insurance • Dental and Vision insurance • Paid time off • Vacation time • Parental leave • Life Insurance • Cancer Insurance • Retirement plan with employer match The Advocacy and Resource Center qualifies as a public service loan forgiveness employer.
