GENERAL JOB SUMMARY: Senior Manager of Operations drives the long-range strategic planning process for operations by overseeing and managing all manufacturing operations, including manufacturing itself, production control, product engineering, manufacturing engineering, equipment engineering, inventory control, facilities, potential materials functions, such as purchasing, and shipping/receiving activities. Defines goals, improves technologies, and resolves problems in conjunction with managers of manufacturing, quality assurance, engineering, and sales. Translates customer requirements into state-of-the-art manufacturing strategies and processes, resulting in cost-effective processing and profitable manufacturing of company products. Develops operations-related plans, budgets, and policies and procedures. Maintains safety and regulatory compliance relating to the production facility. Responsible for directing and guiding the work of teams and/or individuals within the manufacturing operations. Performs employee reviews and participates in personnel decisions. Operates under minimal supervision. This position requires the ability to obtain and maintain security clearance, if needed. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: • Establish and execute business unit objectives and goals • Participates with senior management to establish strategic plans and objectives. • Makes final decisions on implementation and ensures operational effectiveness. • Effectively cascades functional strategy and contributes to development of organizational policies. • Establish, drive and track performance metrics to meet goals of company • Works on complex issues where problems are not clearly defined and where fundamental principles do not fully apply. • Translates business segment strategy into functional plans and guides execution. • Participates in corporate development of methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for projects, programs, and people. • Drives a culture of high integrity, continuous improvement, learning and knowledge sharing • Ensures budgets and schedules meet corporate requirements. • Contributes to development of strategies of a function or multi departments. • Erroneous decisions will have a critical long-term (typically up to five years) impact on the overall success of function or multiple departments. • Interacts with senior management, executives, and/or major customers which frequently involves negotiating matters of significance to the organization. • Reconciles multiple stakeholder views to drive business results. • Directs the activities of a functional area or multiple integrated departments through lower management. • Leads team(s) to develop new methods and solve complex matters. • Train, develop and coach team to achieve business objectives • Accountable for actions that impact function or multiple department budgets • Other duties as assigned. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES: • Possess the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the assigned duties, including computer skills. • Strong data analytics. Prior MRP experience preferred • Highly organized, able to multi-task and prioritize. Able to balance long-term and short-term deadlines • Maintain sensitive and confidential information as required by company and government requirements. • Communicate and interact effectively with peers, supervisors, and the public, including maintaining respect for others, and following company policies. • Have a willingness and ability to learn and utilize company technology for company required purposes, including, for example training, reviewing, and signing policies and procedures, benefits enrollment, and changes, and more. • Ability to read, understand, and follow instructions. • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment. • Ability to maintain knowledge, skills, and abilities as it pertains to your job. • Previous experience working in an electronics manufacturing environment preferred • Ability to obtain security clearance EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: • Typically requires a minimum of 8 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 5 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD with 2 years of experience; or equivalent experience. WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Office and/or manufacturing environment. • Ability to sit and stand for long periods of time. • Ability to perform repetitive motion (keyboarding, mouse, phones, use tools/equipment).
