Description Job Summary IEEE is seeking an experienced Scrum Master to support cross functional product teams within its scaled Product Delivery Model. This role partners as a peer to Product Owners, drives delivery predictability within Planning Intervals, and contributes to cross team coordination and governance across the assigned product area. The Scrum Master enables predictable, high quality delivery aligned to enterprise priorities by facilitating team execution within Planning Intervals, removing impediments, strengthening team capability, and ensuring transparency of progress and outcomes. This position reports to the Manager, Product Governance and Execution and collaborates closely with IT partners, Product Owners, Product Managers, and business stakeholders across IEEE Key Responsibilities Delivery Accountability Serve as Scrum Master for one or more product teams operating within IEEE's Product Delivery Model. Facilitate Agile ceremonies including PI planning, sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand ups, reviews, and retrospectives. Ensure commitments are clearly defined, tracked, and delivered with transparency and predictability. Accountable for driving and improving delivery predictability at the team level, partnering with Product Owners to ensure commitments remain realistic and aligned throughout the Planning Interval Lead teams in raising delivery maturity, particularly in areas with evolving structure, shifting priorities, or delivery instability. Comfortable operating in complex or underperforming delivery environments and driving stabilization through structure, transparency, and disciplined execution. Ensure team execution aligns to defined product objectives and enterprise priorities. Scaled Alignment and Coordination Support cross team coordination and dependency management within and across product areas. Contribute to PI objectives and ensure team work aligns to product and enterprise priorities. Surface risks, scope changes, and delivery impacts in a timely manner to product and technology leadership. Governance, Metrics, and Transparency Develop and maintain team level metrics that support predictability, quality, and flow. Provide clear reporting on delivery progress against Planning Interval objectives. Ensure adherence to standards, tools, and governance practices defined within the Product Delivery Model. Partnership and Coaching Partner with Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog aligned to product strategy. Support estimation, capacity planning, and roadmap execution within the Planning Interval framework. Partner as a peer to Product Owners to maintain a healthy, prioritized backlog aligned to strategic outcomes. Coach Product Owners and team members on planning, estimation, flow, and outcome driven delivery. Challenge teams to balance speed, quality, and sustainable execution. Reinforce and model standards defined within the Product Delivery Model. Project and Dependency Management Identify and manage cross functional dependencies, risks, and critical path items. Develop lightweight project plans or documentation when required to support enterprise visibility and compliance needs. Qualifications EducationBachelor's degree or equivalent experience Required Work Experience5+ years experience in Agile delivery, including 3+ years serving as a Scrum Master in a multi team or scaled Agile environment. Required. Demonstrated experience improving delivery predictability, managing cross team dependencies, and influencing stakeholders beyond a single team. Required. Experience operating within a defined product operating model, governance framework, or scaled delivery structure. Preferred. Experience partnering as a peer to Product Owners or Product Managers in outcome driven environments. Required. Licenses and Certifications Scrum Master Certification. Required. Scaled Agile certification such as SSM, SPC, or equivalent experience working within a scaled framework. Preferred. Skills and Requirements Proven ability to drive predictable delivery against PI or quarterly commitments. Experience facilitating cross team coordination and resolving systemic impediments. Strong ability to influence without formal authority across technical and business stakeholders. Experience developing and interpreting delivery metrics focused on predictability, flow, and quality. Proficiency with Jira use for agile delivery. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present delivery status, risks, and trade offs to leadership. Demonstrated ability to operate independently with minimal oversight in a dynamic environment. Excellent spoken and written communications skills in English, including good presentation and technical documentation skills are required. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with both technical and business personnel is required. The candidate must be a good listener, be able to motivate and influence people without exercising authority and be able to remain positive and maintain composure under pressure. Candidate must demonstrate a constant willingness to learn and embrace change, and thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities. Other Requirements: Requires up to 10% travel, primarily for quarterly Planning Interval events and product area alignment sessions, if not local to New Jersey.
