Responsibilities: Employ a person-centered approach that fosters positive perceptions of aging, while nurturing relationships among residents. Craft a monthly activity calendar in collaboration with residents, reflecting their shared interests. Work closely with the community leadership team to plan and execute engaging special events, including holiday, family, educational, and marketing initiatives. Arrange meaningful outings for residents beyond the community, possibly utilizing a community vehicle. This job description provides an overview of expected responsibilities and is not an exhaustive list. Associates should be prepared to carry out additional tasks as assigned by their supervisor. Qualifications: Education and Experience: A minimum of one year of experience working directly with adults in planning and executing programs is essential. A high school diploma or GED is required, with a preferred Bachelor's Degree in therapeutic recreation, gerontology, health care, education, or related areas. Leadership experience is also preferred. Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special Requirements: A valid driver's license is mandatory and a commercial driver's license may be required depending on community needs. Management/Decision Making: The role involves making standard, routine decisions grounded in detailed guidelines, utilizing independent judgment and discretion, with the ability to report issues to a supervisor as necessary.
