Position Type: Support Staff/Teacher AssistantDate Posted: 4/8/2026Location: Hill Country ElementaryDate Available: July 2026Closing Date: Open Until FilledHill Country Elementary School is seeking an energetic and skilled Paraprofessional Aide to join their Alternative Learning Environment (ALE)Team for the 2026-2027 school year.Bandera ISD is a 4-Day Instructional Week District(Mon - Thurs, with designated Fridays for staff Development & Training)Start Date: July 2026Job Description:- The instructional aide will work directly with students in the classrooms in grades Kindergarten through 5th grade- The Instructional Aide will work closely with ALEclassroom teachers to assist in the instruction of engaging lessons - The Instructional Assistant will assist in the management of student behaviors by enforcing designated ALE classroom rules and procedures- Assist in the preparation of ALE teacher-designed lessons- Implement supports directed by the ALE teacher- Work with small groups for reteaching as directed by the ALE teacher- Assist students with physical disabilities, according to their needs, including transferring to and from wheelchairs, lifting, and positioning - Assist students with physical needs and personal care, including feeding, bathroom needs, and personal hygiene- Help manage the behavior of students. This includes intervening in crisis situations and restraining disruptive or dangerous behavior as needed at the direction of the teacher- Work with individual students or small groups to develop motor skills and conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher - Help supervise students throughout the school day, inside and outside the classroom (This includes before and after school duty when applicable)- Keep ALE teachers and campus administration informed of special needs or problems of individual studentsRequirements:- High School Diploma or equivalent- Possess 48 hours of college credit from an accredited university/college OR Pass the NCLB Paraprofessional Assessment (Reading/ELAR, Math, and Written Essay)- Pass Texas Criminal Background Check & Fingerprinting- The Instructional Aide will maintain confidentiality at all times as required by FERPA and HIPAA - Must be able to walk, run, and lift (up to 40 lbs.)Preferences & Additional Information:- Positive...
