Position Type: Support Staff/Instructional AssistantDate Posted: 3/6/2026Location: Phoenixville Area High SchoolJob CoachThe job coach will work collaboratively with classroom teachers, adult students, and community stakeholders to promote student skill development in functional, vocational, social and leisure skills to support a coordinated transition to adult based support systems or independent living. The job coach will accompany adult students with disabilities in the school and into the community work settings to assist in the development of workplace skills and competencies.Duties and Responsibilities include:Work in various environments including school and community settings.Assist students in gaining confidence in their employability skills within the community and school setting.Build and foster community relationships to foster growth of individual student transition outcomes.Accompany students in district provided transportation and/or meet students at job sites outside the school setting.Work independently in the community and school setting (in the absence of teacher/administrative supervision) to facilitate the success of students in work settings.Implement goals from vocational evaluation outcomes and student specific transition plans per IEPs.Make vocational recommendations to facilitate access to employment opportunities.Adhere to expected timelines for data collection, paperwork, behavioral analysis and reports.Implement and refine task analysis specific to each community partner and student.Implement effective coaching strategies to help student's overcome employment-related challenges (dexterity, mobility, behavior, communication, etc).Partner with community organizations to make the workplace accessible to students with disabilities.Counsel students on fine-tuning work habits/skills in preparation for competitive employment.Serve as a liaison between the case manager, special education administrators and community partners.Conform to building policy and procedures as noted in the employee handbook, paraprofessional responsibility guidelines and specific administrative requests.Qualifications:Associates degree or PaTTAN paraprofessional competencies certificateJob coaching certification or training designated by PASDExperience working with adult students with disabilitiesCompensation/Benefits$24.00 per hour based on direct experience supporting students in the community work settingPAESPA; full-time, 184 day, 7 hrs per day
