Job Description:
Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced HR Leave & Compliance Specialist to provide contract-based support managing employee leave of absence cases and related compliance matters. This role will support the HR team on an as-needed basis, with hours varying depending on the volume and complexity of cases.The ideal candidate has deep expertise in FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability claims, and workers' compensation coordination, with the ability to navigate complex situations while ensuring compliance with federal, state, and company policies.This contractor will work closely with HR leadership and managers to help manage leave administration, support compliance obligations, and assist with injury and safety-related reporting.Key Responsibilities Leave AdministrationManage leave of absence cases including FMLA, state leaves, ADA accommodations, disability, and other protected or company leave programsSupport with coordinating leave requests, documentation, and employee/manager communicationsProvide guidance to HR and managers on leave eligibility, timelines, and required documentationTrack leave status and ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policiesWorkers' Compensation & Injury AdministrationFacilitate workers' compensation claim administration and coordinationAssist with employee injury claims, reporting, and follow-up with appropriate parties including adjusters, employees, and managementSupport OSHA reporting requirements and documentation when applicableCompliance & DocumentationEnsure compliance with internal HR policies and relevant employment laws and regulationsMaintain accurate documentation and case recordsProvide guidance on compliance risks related to leave, accommodations, and injury reportingSafety & Reporting SupportAssist with implementation and tracking of company safety and health program initiativesTrack OSHA-required data and support required reporting if necessaryHR PartnershipServe as a subject matter expert for complex leave and accommodation mattersProvide recommendations and guidance to HR leadership on best practices and risk mitigationSupport HR with case reviews and compliance questions as they ariseQualificationsBachelor's Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred5+ years of experience in Human Resources, with significant focus on leave administration and complianceStrong expertise in FMLA, ADA accommodations, disability claims, and workers' compensationExperience administering complex leave cases and coordinating with managers and employeesKnowledge of OSHA reporting and workplace injury processesStrong understanding of HR best practices and current regulatory requirementsExcellent judgment, problem-solving skills, and ability to navigate sensitive employee mattersHigh level of professionalism, discretion, and confidentialityStrong communication and interpersonal skillsProficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
