This isn't just about certification "” it's about enabling trust, accelerating deployment, and protecting our brand in one of the world's most complex regulatory landscapes.About the RoleWe're seeking an experienced, action-oriented Automotive Regulatory Compliance Manager to join our high-velocity USO team "” immediately. You'll be at the center of ZEEKR's U.S. growth: ensuring production vehicles and RT (Robotaxi) platforms comply with NHTSA, EPA, and CARB requirements "” from pre-sale certification (CoC, EO, CDRs) to post-delivery obligations (warranty reporting, recalls, MCOs, OTA disclosures). This role directly supports ZEEKR's strategic partnership with Waymo "” meaning you'll interface not only with regulators, but also with fleet operations, engineering, homologation, and external contractors (e.g., Kinetic Metrics) to keep vehicles on the road, legally and safely.ResponsibilitiesServe as ZEEKR's primary owner for post-certification regulatory compliance, including:NHTSA defect & warranty reporting (573/566 portals), FMVSS Compliance Demonstration Reports (CDRs), and recall coordinationEPA and CARB ongoing compliance (ZEV credit reporting, multipollutant rules, confirmatory testing support)Vehicle tracking, MCO generation, and documentation for Waymo DMV registrationAct as first responder for emerging compliance issues: identify root causes (e.g., label errors, brake hose markings, seat weld defects), drive cross-functional resolution, and ensure timely correction "” often under urgent operational pressure.Partner closely with Engineering, Certification, Legal, and Product teams to embed compliance into development cycles "” especially for OTA updates, ADAS features, and RT-specific configurations.Manage and guide third-party contractors (e.g., Kinetic Metrics for FMVSS safety) "” overseeing research, testing support, documentation, and audit readiness.Maintain and improve internal compliance systems: document governance (SharePoint, DocuSign), business continuity plans, quality controls, and risk mitigation protocols.Deliver clear, executive-level briefings and presentations "” translating technical regulations into actionable insights for leadership, customers (e.g., Waymo debriefs), and government agencies.QualificationsBachelor's degree in Engineering, Automotive Technology, Public Policy, or related field "” or equivalent hands-on experience in U.S. automotive regulatory affairs.Minimum 5 years of direct experience in U.S. automotive compliance, ideally within OEMs, Tier 1 suppliers, or regulatory consultancies serving the U.S. market.Required SkillsDemonstrated expertise with NHTSA FMVSS, EPA emissions/certification, and CARB ZEV/LEVS programs, including real-world application of CDRs, 573 reports, MCOs, and ZEV credit management.Experience supporting autonomous vehicle (AV) or robotaxi deployments, including familiarity with RT-specific compliance pathways, exemption processes (EPA/NHTSA), or fleet operator requirements (e.g., Waymo, Cruise).Proven ability to operate autonomously in fast-paced, ambiguous environments "” balancing rigor with pragmatism, especially when "white space" regulations require proactive interpretation.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills "” able to engage confidently with engineers, executives, regulators, and partners like Waymo.Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), G-Suite, Teams; experience with SharePoint, DocuSign, MS Project, or Visio is a strong plus.Pay range and compensation packageDetails regarding the pay range or salary or compensation will be provided during the interview process.Equal Opportunity StatementWe are committed to diversity and inclusivity in our hiring practices and encourage applications from all qualified individuals.
